Filter

Filters act in a similar way to EQ, with the exception of having multiple bands to work with. Most filters work on a cutoff basis, in which where the cutoff is set will determine the point the sound is ‘cutoff’. As with EQ it filters out the harmonic content of a sound, allowing you to remove frequencies. This process is normally used as a creative effect by modulating the filter’s cutoff with an LFO or envelope to add movement to a sound.
